Where the emperor Hadrian spent his time relaxing?
Hadrian’s Villa in Tivoli is one of the Italian UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Built by the request of the Emperor Hadrian, the Villa is a monumental living complex that even today continues to display the lavishness and enormous power of Ancient Rome.
The villa is one of the most important examples of villa that are known of Roman antiquity, it was built on a much broader area of the site of Pompeii.
It was built between 118 and 138 d. C. Hadrian was a very experienced architect and his interferences in the constructions were not uncommon during the period of his tenure. The villa is in fact full of architectural innovations, designed to surprise and enchant guests of the time and visitors today.
Talking about Hadrian’s Villa, how can we not mention Villa d’Este? It hosts the most beautiful example of garden in the Italian style and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Are you interested? You can find the tour of the villa in our “Private Tours” section.
