Montalcino is 564 meters high on a hill and this position allows a perfect control over the river valleys of the Ombrone and Asso.
Montalcino is a Medieval village and its fulcrum is “Piazza del Popolo”. In this town you can admire the statue of Cosimo the first and Palazzo dei Priori.
Not far from Palazzo dei Priori, you will visit the “Duomo of Montalcino”, an important cathedral that is an example of neoclassical style of the nineteenth century.
At the end of our walk in Montalcino, we visit the former monastery of St. Agostino, which houses an important collection of archaeological findings.
