“The Last Supper” was painted By Leonardo Da Vinci between the year 1494-1498, but unfortunately the artist Leonardo Da Vinci used an experimental technique for fresco, which was found to be incompatible with the humidity of refectory of the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie where “The last Supper” is located .....

For the importance of this Leonardo Da Vinci masterpiece, was organized the longest restauration in the history of the art, to give the possibility at the public to see this amazing fresco in all its beauty. Scholars and restorers worked to set up the colors as the originals for 21 years, from 1978 until 1999, and they work with the most advanced techniques in the sector of restauration.

“The Last Supper” is located by the Cathedral of Santa Maria delle Grazie. More precisely, in the room where monks used to eat, the cenacolo. Leonardo Da Vinci chose to create this painting because he wanted to represent a realistic scene to make feel the monks like they were actually having a meal with the Jesus and the apostoles. In order to do that, the artist created a very big work: 4,6 x 8,8 meters on a wall.

“The Last Supper” is one of the many pieces of art that, until today, is studied with more interpretations. Scholars and Art Critics, whisper that inside this masterpiece, Leonardo Da Vinci hid a secret code, to send a message at a small group of person that can read it..
