A UNIQUE ITALIAN LANDSCAPE BETWEEN GENOA AND PISA, NOT FAR FROM PORTOVENERE AND PORTOFINO.
Cinque Terre tours: the unique Italian landscape, Cinque Terre (‘Cinque=Five’; ‘Terre=Lands’) is an amazing UNESCO World Heritage Italian site. Its name comes from the Five (Cinque) traffic-free villages, Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.
This unique area of Italy, Cinque Terre contains the beauty of the rough sea, the charm of the jagged rocks and the magic of little and colored towns almost set above the sea surrounded by mountains.
Monterosso al Mare is the biggest of the Five Villages, the most populous and the best located, it is the only one reachable by cars from north and here you can find the only sand beach of the area.
The connection of the Five Villages of the Cinque Terre is possible only by a local train or if you are a good walker by the famous pathway ‘Via dell’amore’ (the Pathway of Love). The romantic Via dell’amore (the Pathway of Love) is located at almost 30 metres above the level of the sea in the middle of the nature with amazing view. It is one of the classic tour of the national park of Cinque Terre and it is one of the most beautiful pathway in Italy.
From north to south after Monterosso, you will see Vernazza, considered one of the most beautiful town in Italy. In fact, this city is situated on a little cape that confers a very characteristic atmosphere, together with the shiny sea and the colored buildings.
Moreover, you can taste here Vernaccia, one of the most famous typical Italian white wine (from which derives the name of the city).
After Vernazza, you will reach the village of Corniglia. It is the only one that doesn’t overlook the sea and is the smallest town of the Cinque Terre area, but you can admire its wild nature and enjoy the visit of Saint Peter’s church, which combines the baroque and the unique Italian Gothic style.
Then Manarola waits for your visit: it is developed on a narrow gorge sheer on the sea and its main characteristics are the typical and colored tower houses.
Finally, from Manarola you will arrive to the most famous village of the Cinque Terre: Riomaggiore. Its historical center of colored tower houses above other gorge sheer on the sea gives to Riomaggiore a suggestive setting that combines wild nature and human life. It is the only one reachable by car from south.
From Riomaggiore, only 30 minutes by car, you will reach Portovenere, another UNESCO Italian site with his castle climbed on the promontory and his characteristic and famous village.
