From September 13th 2019 to January 13th 2020, an exhibition entitled “From Artemisia to Hackert. History of an antique collector at the Royal Palace” will be held at the Royal Palace of Caserta. There will be works by artists of the caliber of Artemisia Gentileschi, Bernardo Cavallino, Rubens and Guercino. The director Maffei spoke of a “refined collection that reveals the acute taste of the antiquarian and the collector”. The wonders of seventeenth and eighteenth century paintings stand out in the lavish rooms of the Royal Palace of Caserta, showing views, landscapes, still life and the extraordinary gallery of ports of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies created by Jakob Philipp Hackert for King Ferdinand IV of Bourbon.
