In the heart of the “Society of Jesus”
The restoration of the “Rooms of St. Aloysius Gonzaga”, in the complex of Collegio Romano and St. Ignatius of Loyola Church in Campus Martius area, has been completed and the rooms finally reopen to the public after so many years and after a big work of cleaning and restorative measures...
Visit them with us! This is a site of great Christian spirituality, where many important figures of the Society of Jesus studied in the past centuries. The name of the rooms is due to the young saint Aloysius Gonzaga (1568-1591), who studied there, giving up the privileges of the noble life, against his family’s wishes, to devote himself to religious life in the Society of Jesus, dying of plague when he was 23 years old. In the rooms is it possible to admire beautiful paintings that illustrate the life of St. Aloysius Gonzaga
- The rooms are open but the visit has to be booked in advance.
