Tour Venetian Villas
Every year, from March to October, it is possible to visit by boat, the Venetian Villas along the Brenta River. The Burchiello was a typical Venetian passenger boat with a large wooden cabin with three or four balconies, beautifully carved and decorated. The burchielli were used by the wealthier classes to reach Venice from their country villas.
The Burchielli were used by the most wealthy Venetians to reach their country villas, from the city centres where they resided. Still today all the motor boats that run along the river Brenta are called “Burchielli” and today these modern and comfortable boats, heirs of the ancient Burchielli, cross the waters of the river with slow pace.
Our tour will lead you with our local guide to discover the history, culture and art of the area, witnessed by the Venetian villas of the Brenta. We will visit inside some of the most beautiful villas, besides the visit to the ancient mills of Dolo, built in ‘ 500 and historically very important for the economy of the whole area.
