Accessible Borromean Islands Tour – Maggiore Lake
A tour for wheelchair users that will help you discover the beauty of the amazing Borromean Islands.
During this accessible tour, you will visit the breathtaking Borromean islands, which are located right in the middle of Maggiore Lake, in the lakes district of Italy. Four Islands compose this archipelago: Isola Bella, Isola dei Pescatori, Isola Madre and Isolino di San Giovanni. However, only three of those can be visited.
Inside “Isola Bella”, you will visit the famous and majestic Palazzo Borromeo, where the Borromeo family lived for many centuries. Inside the Palace, you can admire the famous gallery, which is rich of baroque art pieces. Natural river stones decorate the cave of the palace and, finally, the beautiful garden with a large variety of birds is surely worth a visit.
After that, you will reach Isola Madre, on board of our private boat. The name of this island is “Madre”, because it was probably the first island people inhabited. Here you will visit the botanic garden and the museum, accompanied by a private expert local guide.
This accessible tour for wheelchair users will end with a visit to the third island: Isola dei Pescatori. Here you can spend your free time around the village. Its biggest peculiarity is that, here, there are only 50 citizens.
On request, with an extra cost, it is possible to have an accessible transfer with vehicle equipped with lift.
