The fresco is a very ancient art medium that allows you to paint on walls with mineral and water-based colors. The paint must be placed on the wall while the plaster is still wet, which is why it is called “fresco”, which means “fresh” in Italian! Once the paint is put on the wall, you can’t take it away, so be careful! The fresco technique is very ancient, as it can be traced back to ancient Rome and Ancient Greece. The most famous examples of frescoes in Italy are the beautiful “Sistine Chapel”, painted by “Michelangelo”, and “The School of Athens” by “Raphael”, both in “Vatican City”.
