FRESCO WORKSHOP – ROME

The Fresco Workshop in Rome is an experience that will give you all the materials you need to create a piece of art that you will take back home! A professional fresco painter will teach you the technique to use and help you during the process. This experience is suited for both children and adults!

The fresco is a very ancient art medium that allows you to paint on walls with mineral and water-based colors. The paint must be placed on the wall while the plaster is still wet, which is why it is called “fresco”, which means “fresh” in Italian! Once the paint is put on the wall, you can’t take it away, so be careful! The fresco technique is very ancient, as it can be traced back to ancient Rome and Ancient Greece. The most famous examples of frescoes in Italy are the beautiful “Sistine Chapel”, painted by “Michelangelo”, and “The School of Athens” by “Raphael”, both in “Vatican City”. The Fresco Workshop will take place in Rome, and it will last 3 hours. Here a professional local artist will teach you how to approach this ancient technique, and you will create an art piece that you will take home with you! The Fresco Workshop takes place right in the heart of the city, in a wonderful art school.

Your class program will be personalized to adapt to your needs, existing skills, and objectives. You will be taken through the steps of preparing the surface for the fresco, drawing your subject, transferring the drawing, and finally applying the paint. This experience will let you discover this ancient art form and feel like a true artist of the renaissance!
