Our Cinecittà Studios Tour in Rome will take you to see and walk amongst the sets where history of cinema was made.

Cinecittà Studios were inaugurated in 1937 but it was after the Second World War when great directors such as LeRoy and William Wyler chose these studios to film two movies that reinvented the history of cinema: “Quo Vadis?” and “Ben Hur” (1959). The Cinecittà Studios also played a role in showing and promoting the city of Rome and the Dolce Vita, especially after the release of the homonymous film “La Dolce Vita” (1960) by Federico Fellini which was also filmed in Cinecittà sets....

More recently Cinecittà Studios hosted important international productions such as “Gangs of New York” by Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, “The Passion of the Christ” by Mel Gibson or even action films like “Six Underground” by the famous blockbusters’ director Michael Bay. The Academy Awards winner Paolo Sorrentino chose Cinecittà Studios to film his latest HBO series “The Young Pope” and the second season “The New Pope”, including reconstructions of the interiors of the “Sistine Chapel” and “Saint Peter’s Basilica” and other many directors and actors all over the world still want to have the chance to film in Cinecittà Studios, also well-known for being efficient in services. Even Quentin Tarantino could not resist and in 2016 filmed his eighth movie “The Hateful Eight”, starring Kurt Russel and Samuel L. Jackson, and after the production the movie was shown in the famous Studio 5 known for being “Fellini’s Favorite Studio”.

Cinecittà Studios Tour will take you to see and experience the feelings of being in a real movie set and allow you to completely enter in the history of cinema, visiting the museum inside which displays some pictures, interviews and no less than the original costumes worn by movie stars such as Liz Taylor. The exhibit also includes a room completely dedicated to Sergio Leone, where some of his most iconic scenes are projected. The following part of it will introduce you to the “professions of cinema” where each room is dedicated to a different one: the director, the screenwriter, the sound crew, costumes designers, the secrets of fiction and the technology of the green screen. After the show, you will walk through the sets where, among them, you can find the “Ancient Rome” where the series “Borgia” was filmed, the “Temple of Jerusalem” and “Florence 1400”.

The Cinecittà Studios compound also offers “Cinebimbicittà” for your children! It is a creativity lab where they can get closer to the world of cinema and participate in laboratory programs and special events. Your children could discover the secrets of filming and explore the magic of costumes and production design.
