See famous paintings and statues with the Borghese Gallery tour.

The Borghese Gallery tour will allow you to see artworks by some of the most famous artists in the world: “Caravaggio”, “Titian”, “Raphael”, “Gian Lorenzo Bernini”, “Antonio Canova”, “Pieter Paul Rubens”, and more! ...

Visit the “Borghese Gallery” and let us take you for a journey through Italian art and culture, where you will see world-famous art pieces like “Bernini’s Apollo and Daphne”, and the statue of “Pauline Bonaparte as Venus Victrix” by “Antonio Canova”.

The Borghese Gallery tour will show you the beautiful villa of the “Borghese family”, now an art gallery that houses the most beautiful artworks in Italy. “Villa Borghese” was built in the seventeenth century, after the “Borghese family” secured their power in Rome with the election of pope “Paul V”, who was a member of this aristocratic family.

In the “Borghese Gallery” you will see many beautiful art pieces. You will be able to see six of the best paintings by “Caravaggio” exhibited in the same room, including his “Self-Portrait as Bacchus”. The collection also has many pieces of “statues from Ancient Rome”, and they will take you back in time with their beauty and perfection. You will see paintings by “Pieter Paul Rubens”, a Flemish painter from the Netherlands who was influenced by many Italian artists while he lived in Italy. There are many art pieces by “Titian” and “Raphael”, masters of the “Renaissance period”. The Borghese Gallery also houses many works by “Gian Lorenzo Bernini”, the great baroque sculptor, such as the “David” and the famous “Apollo and Daphne”. “Apollo and Daphne” by “Gian Lorenzo Bernini” is a beautiful marble sculpture that shows the final moment of the story of these two figures of Greek and Roman mythology. The legend says that the god “Apollo” fell in love with “Daphne”, a beautiful nymph. “Daphne” did not love him back, so to escape him she asked her father to turn her into a plant of laurel. The statue shows “Apollo” as he is about to catch “Daphne”. The sense of movement makes this statue a true masterpiece, and it is an absolute must-see!

The beautiful “Villa Borghese” became the home of “Pauline”, the sister of “Napoleon Bonaparte”, when she married the roman prince Camillo II Borghese in the nineteenth century. Her husband commissioned a marble statue of Pauline to Antonio Canova”, the greatest of the Neoclassical artists. “Canova” created “Pauline Bonaparte as Venus Victrix”, a statue that depicts Pauline as “Venus”, the goddess of love and beauty, laying on a couch and holding an apple. The apple is a reference to the “Iliad”, the Greek epic in which “Paris”, prince of Troy, offers a golden apple to the most beautiful goddess of all, “Venus”.

The Borghese Gallery tour will allow you to visit a great collection of art pieces from many artistic periods. From the Roman Empire to the Renaissance, this place is the perfect spot to enjoy Italian art and see how it evolved through the centuries. The pieces exhibited here are famous all over the world for their beauty, and we can’t wait to show them to you!
