The 52-year-old artist Lorenzo Quinn wants his eye-catching sculpture to remind political leaders about climate change and to take more action to stop it. In the occasion of this year’s Venice art biennale, Lorenzo, known for his previous installation in 2017 which saw a pair of hands coming out from the canal and propping up a building, has unveiled his latest work named “Building Bridges”. This new sculpture consists in six pairs of hands joining across the entrance of the Arsenale, with each pair representing an essential value for a total of six: Friendship, Wisdom, Help, Faith, Hope and Love. The project aims to symbolize people overcoming their differences to build a better world together.
