Montepulciano rises on “Mons Politianus” 600 meters above sea level; from this hill, you will have a wonderful view of the Tuscan hills.
Your accessible tour will start from “Porta al Prato” or from“Porta delle Farine”. Otherwise, if you prefer, you can start your visit with the sanctuary of the Madonna di San Biagio. This church is a masterpiece of Antonio da Sangallo.
A long and beautiful street called “Corso” crosses Montepulciano. This street will directly bring you to “Piazza Grande”.
Then, we will reach the Duomo, the town hall and Palazzo Nobili Tarugi.
One of the most beautiful things you will admire during this accessible tour is a marble column called “Colonna Del Marzocco”: it is situated in Piazza Savonarola. This column is situated next to Palazzo Avignonesi, and its position is very picturesque.
Montepulciano is also full of elegant churches designed by Michelozzo who, during his life, worked for Medici’s family.
On request, with an extra cost, it is possible to have an accessible transfer with vehicle equipped with lift.
