Public Museums on the Capitoline Hill
The Capitoline Museums accessible for wheelchair users are located inside the Palazzo dei Conservatori and the Palazzo Novo, two buildings overlooking Piazza del Campidoglio, the famous square made by Michelangelo.
An underground tunnel links the two complexes passing through the Capitoline Hill and giving access to a terrace overlooking the Roman Forum, in the ancient Roman building called the “Tabularium.” The museum houses beautiful fresco interiors and is full of unique treasures of the world, such as The Good Fortune of Caravaggio in the gallery area, and the statues of the Capitoline Wolf and of the Capitoline Venus in the sculpture section, just to name a few.
