WINE AND OLIVE OIL: THE CLASSICS OF UMBRIA!

Self drive proposal with guaranteed departures every day

The itinerary starts from Torgiano, a beautiful and well preserved “Wine Village” located in the centre of Umbria, at just few km from the most important towns. The villages of Spello and Trevi will offer the opportunity to visit a  “frantoio” (olive oil press and taste a special Olive Oil). On the third  day you will reach Montefalco, called “the balcony of Umbria” for its unforgettable view on the Umbrian valley. You will taste the  Sagrantino wine, which won the “oscar” for the best red Italian wine.                                       

Day 1 - TORGIANO - Arrival in Torgiano and check-in  at the Hotel. Welcome Drink. Weather permitting, visit to a famous Italian wine estate  followed by a wine tasting.  For the night “Gourmet Dinner” in Hotel, composed by 4 courses accompanied by 2 classic Umbrian wines. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 2 - SPELLO - Morning drive to Spello, an ancient village famous for its intact urban layout and remarkable frescoes by “Pinturicchio”, master of the Renaissance. After the visit you will move to  a local Olive Press, for a  tastefully  snack tasting a very special Umbrian Extra Virgin Olive Oil. In the afternoon return to Torgiano where an English speaking guide will introduce you to the WINE MUSEUM and to the Olive and Oil Museum, both located right in the centre of the village and regarded as a “masterpiece” for the innumerable historical findings. Dinner in Hotel with 2 classic Umbrian wines. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 3 - MONTEFALCO and BEVAGNA - Morning drive to Montefalco, also called “the balcony of Umbria” with the best views in Umbria. Explore the narrow streets of this tiny village and the Museo Civico with many beautiful frescoes by Benozzo Gozzoli and Il Perugino. Then there will be time to explore the village of Bevagna, with its monumental square, the Roman Mosaic and the little Theatre Torti. During the day you will have also the chance to taste the famous D.O.C.G. Sagrantino wine in a typical local Osteria where we’ve booked your dinner. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 4 - DEPARTURE - Return home or extend your stay in Umbria or elsewhere in Italy.

The above rate includes 3 nights accomodation in a 5 star hotel located in the centre of Torgiano, a famous  Umbrian “wine village”, free use of the fitness centre of the Hotel (swimming pool, indoor whirlpool, sauna and gym), 3 Buffet Breakfasts, 2 dinners  in the Restaurant of the Hotel (4 courses and 2 wines included), 1 Dinner at a local Osteria, (4 courses including a tasting of the Sagrantino wine), Tickets for the entrance to the Wine Museum, Ticket for the entrance to the Olive and Oil Museum, English speaking guide for the visits of the 2 Museums, 1 visit to an important wine estate followed by a wine tasting, 1 visit to an Olive press followed by an olive oil tasting, 1 ticket for the entry to the main monuments of Bevagna.
